The Scotsman, Monday 20th December 1915
Before 20,000 spectators Partick Thistle and Celtic met at Firhill Park, Glasgow. From the start the visitors took the game in hand, and during the first half the Thistle were rarely dangerous. The Celtic forwards played delightful football, and the Thistle rear line had a busy time. After seventeen minutes play, McAtee opened the scoring, and three minutes later McMenemy headed through a second goal from a corner kick. These two goals gave the Celtic confidence, and they were seldom far away from Campbell. Before the interval McMenemy increased the Celtic’s lead, after grand play from Browning.

The Thistle showed a big improvement after the interval, and Shaw was frequently called upon. Before the finish the Celtic again asserted their superiority, and Browning scored a fourth goal. The Celts excelled in every position, and merited their victory.

The Glasgow Herald, Monday Dec. 20, 1915
Knowing that everything comes to him who waits if the wait be prolonged indefinitely, Partick Thistle imagined that they were due their first League victory over Celtic.
For over 20 years the Thistle have vainly striven against the Champions, and to-day they were as far as ever from their dreams. Always keen in records, the Parkhead club are rather proud of their unbeaten sequence, and the players invariably take a serious view of their League engagements with the club now located at Firhill. The outcome was a magnificent display by the Champions and one more deserved defeat for the home team.
