The Glasgow Herald – Dec 24, 1917
Until the Celts rearranged their attack there was every probability of Dumbarton again figuring in a goalless draw at Parkhead. The provincials ought to have taken a lead through Thom in the first half and the opportunity did not occur again. Always the better side, Celtic developed an attack after the interval that brought goals in its train, and rather appropriately Gallagher, best of all the forwards, had two of the goals to his credit.
