  • Frank Kelly made his second and last game on loan, then died in France while in the army the following year. He was part of the Kelly family who were part owners & ran Celtic. If he had lived, he may have become a possible future board member or chair of the club, as his younger brother Bob Kelly was to become.
  • Loanee Willie McGinnigle's only game for Celtic. His ‘loan’ had been necessary due to the absence of Alec McNair (injury) and Tommy McGregor (war work), and from the result he slotted in more than well.
