CELTIC ' S SECOND HALF RALLY
ALBION ROVERS' PLUCKY BUT UNAVAILING FIGHT
The winning margin of 3-0 in favour of Celtic in the game at Coatbridge did not overestimate the superiority of the Parkhead team. They had a harder task than the score indicates, however, and if Albion Rovers' plucky display had been duly rewarded by goals, the result would have been closer. As it was, the spirited challenge of the home side in the first half seemed to bring out the best in Celtic in the second half, when they secured their three goals.
There was no scoring in the first half but seven minutes after the restart Fagan scored for Celtic. In the 28th minute McGrory secured the second, and three minutes before the end Murphy registered a third. Murphy was Celtic's "star" forward and for the Rovers Gourlay gave a brilliant display in goal.
