- On the 17th February Celtic signed Jock Weir from Blackburn Rovers for £7000. This was his debut game and unusually, he started at centre forward
- In this, the Third Round of the Scottish Cup, Celtic faced Motherwell. Motherwell had had to come through a replay in the first round, drawing 2-2 with Hamilton Academicals before winning the replay 2-0. In the second round they had beaten Third Lanark 1-0.
