Review

In the first half, Cowan in the Morton goal was beaten by a John McPhail shot from the touchline but a goal line clearance by right back Mitchell kept it goal-less at half-time.

In the second half both teams set out to defend with Miller, Morton’s big centre-half standing out. Morton were the less tired side going into extra time.

Jock Weir missed a sitter from three yards out at 0-0 13 minutes into extra time but the game was decided by the single goal in the 112th minute.
