Trivia

  • Glasgow Cup final

  • A hot and sunny day, 87k attendance!
  • First Trophy won by Celtic since the War.
  • Jock Weir scores a double to help win Celtic the trophy, his eighth goal in this month, and comes two days after scoring against Rangers in a 3-1 win but then his goal scoring totally dried up.
  • Celtic then went on to lose the next four games in a row!

Review

Third Lanark were awarded a penalty on 53 minutes taken by Mitchell. The ball hit the post and rolled along the goal line then rebounded out off of the other post.

This signalled the Celtic revival BUT  not to be with Jock Weir’s goal scoring drying up and Celtic losing the next four games in a row!
