Trivia

  • On the 9th September, Celtic sold Johnny Paton to Brentford for £5000. Paton had played for Celtic before the war, and returned after serving in the RAF. He played as a left wing but after two good seasons through '47-'48 and '48-'49 Celtic decided to cash in and sell him on especially with the arrivals of Bobby Collins and Mike Haughney (who could also play at outside left).
  • League Debut for Willie Taylor.
