Trivia

  • Ex-Celtic Tommy Docherty, now at Preston North End was selected for the Scotland team to play Wales at Hampden. Since joining Preston his game had really developed. Bobby Evans was dropped.
  • In transfer dealing elsewhere, Bill Struth the Rangers manager swapped Eddie Rutherford for winger Colin Liddell of Hearts.
  • The Celtic fans received aclaimation from the Stirling magistrate in the press, the magistrate stating that the police had received wonderful cooperation and rather than the Celtic supporters being a load of "Glasgow keelies" they turned out to be "proper gentlemen". (Evening Times, 12th November, 1951)

Review

Another loss. Celtic had now gone 8 games scoring no more than two goals in any game. In 6 games they had scored once. Fortunately the defence was holding up and not conceding goals either. The absence of a goal scorer was noted by many.
