Review

Celtic won a penalty when Emery handled the ball in the second minute but Aberdeen equalised in the 5th minute when Baird sent a flying header in from an Emery free kick. The game was being played at a fast pace and Watson had to tip over a speculative long drive from Stein. Emery again conceded a penalty in the 25th minute with Collins stroking away his second and on the restart a shot from Baillie which looked to be going wide was deflected into the net by McKenna. The Dons tried hard to come back before the interval and pressed for a goal with Fallon performing wonders in defence. The second half continued with the Dons pressing but with Celtic looking dangerous on the break. Walsh added a fourth goal from a pass by Weir. Before the end Aberdeen were awarded a penalty which Emery scored from and then Yorston scored with a breakaway goal.
