Trivia

  • There was meant to be a game on the 5th against Morton but this was postponed at 9.00am when the referee declared the pitch frozen and unplayable.
  • Andrew Bell was restored to goalkeeper; Peacock was switched from left to right to enable Willie Morrison to come in. Jimmy Walsh was absent with 'flu.
  • This was Willie Morrison's debut. Recently acquired by McGrory from Loanhead Mayflower after a trial, Morrison and John Higgins had travelled and Morrison was preferred. This was his one game for Celtic.
  • Kirkcaldy was proving a difficult place to go to this season. Only Partick Thistle had come away from Starks Park with a win.

Review

Morrison had to wait 15 minutes before he got his first touch of the ball. Before that Raith took the game to Celtic with the Bhoys oddly quiet. Raith's goal came from a 'stramash' in the Celtic area with Kelly getting a touch to put it over the line. Celtic upped a gear in the second half as they had not really turned up in the first. Peacock, Collins and Morrison went in search of a goal but all were wide. To switch things Morrison went over to the right but little came of the switch and Raith held on to the winner.
