Review

Tully had an excellent game and combined well with Millsopp and Baillie. In the 10th minute he fired over a cross which was headed on by Willie Fernie and McPhail hit it with a left foot shot that flew into the net. Fernie got the second, again from a Tully cross. The Falkirk defense was at fault again for the third goal, McPhail's second. At half time Celtic were 3-0 up. Falkirk pulled one back immediately after the interval and followed that up eight minutes later to close the gap to a single goal. Although Celtic tried to up the pace the defense looked shaken and they conceded the equaliser on 61 minutes. Falkirk scored a fourth goal which was disallowed for offside. Celtic finally got back in gear and Tully and McPhail scored two goals in the last 10 minutes.
