Review

Another poor attendance from the Celtic faithful saw a particularly inept Celtic performance.
Though Celtic had territorial advantage and more of the ball in both halfs, their attempts at finishing were woeful. Only Collins came out of the game with any credit. Fallon was unimpressive at centre forward and squandered chances. Walsh fired the ball straight at an Aberdeen defender on six occasions. Meechan and Mcgrory were particularly weak on the left side in defense. Hamilton got both first half Aberdeen goals through superior positional play. After half time McPhail got a goal back diving full length to meet a Peacock cross. Young, Smith and Martin then proceeded to deny all the Celtic attacks. Yorston got a further goal for Aberdeen five minutes from the final whistle.
