Celtic Easy Winners

Celtic scored a convincing win over Falkirk at Brockville Park. Falkirk, indeed, only came into the game in an attacking sense in the last twenty minutes of the game by which time Celtic were two up. Plumb was unfortunate with a volley that hit the crossbar, and a drive by Kelly had Bonnar beaten, but Meechan cleared from the goal line.
Until then, particularly in the second half, Celtic had proved the better combination, their forwards being lively and effective and their defence being confident and sound. Falkirk were hard pressed at times but they had gallant defenders in Sivewright, Rae and Hunter, but for whose sterling work Celtic's win would have been much greater. Forward Falkirk could not equal the slick and speedy moves of Celtic, and therein lay their main weakness.
Fallon opened the scoring for Celtic when in the twelth minute he volleyed home a pass from Fernie. Fourteen minutes after the interval Mochan repeated the move putting Celtic two up and two minutes from the end Mochan again ran in to a Higgins pass and made it three – nil
