Trivia

  • With three games played with an unchanged side and qualification for the post group game phase missed yet again, the changes were finally rung. John Jack came in for Frank meechan; Bobby Collins and Jimmy Walsh replaced John Higgins and Willie Fernie.

Review

The penalty was awarded when Roy beat four defenders including Bonnar but as he was steadying to shoot home into the empty net he was pulled down by Bonnar. Tully, Collins and Mochan all had shots saved on the line. Dundee used the ball better than Celtic. Henderson could have been sent off for Dundee after an 'altercation' with Stein which saw him booked and resulted in a free kick for Celtic. In the second half Mochan shot agonisingly wide from a Tully pass. In the closing stages Mochan was brought down in the area but the referee ignored the calls for a penalty.
