Review

Queen of the South started well and Jack, Evans and Haughney were all busy breaking up attacks. The forwards were slow finding a rhythm. It took the best part of half an hour before Tully and Sharkey tried the Queens goal. Then Celtic got a fortuitous break when Binning in attempting to clear put through his own net. Then just to even things up Jack headed past Beattie to put it level at half time at an own goal apiece.
At the start of the second half Tully missd a sitter and then Beattie managed to allow a shot to squirm out of his grasp and into the net. Patterson got a third from a header from a free kick. McGill then added another headed goal to make it 4-1. Higgins pulled one back after a combined move and Mochan nipped in at the end to leave it 4-3 at full time.
