Trivia

  • Another game with one day off – the games came thick and fast to get through the schedule before the end of the season. This was an evening / late afternoon kick off with the floodlights at Fir Park available.
  • This was a Wednesday afternoon game. Celtic had lost on the Monday away to Raith Rovers and had lost the Scottish Cup semi final on the Saturday – in fact everything looked like a vast end of term hangover with little to play for now.
  • In came Kurila for hisa first team debut and McNeill as replacements for Duncan MacKay and Bobby Evans who were away with the Scottish International party in England preparing from the international.

Review

A decent fight from the Bhoys but Motherwell were too strong. Only Colrain and McVittie showed any spirit in the attack and it was another case of trying to walk the ball in and failing to shoot too often.
