Review

Motherwell were playing good football this season under manager Bobby Ancell. This was a game in which the young Celtic front line gelled and instead of being shot shy and missing, they shot on sight and generally were on target. Bertie Auld was noted as having a key role in this game and it marked another level to the guy's game. Colrain's fourth goal was the pick of the bunch, a shot from 20 yards out and against a strong wind which fair rocketed into the net. The Celtic team, against a not unremarkable Motherwell side, were said to be from the goalkeeper forward, better per man.
This win took Celtic to fifth in the League, four points behind early leaders Rangers and Hearts.
