Trivia

  • This was the game in hand that Celtic needed to play but its date presented somewhat of a problem for both sides in deiffering ways. Originally Raith Rovers did not want to play on this Monday night citing the closeness to the Saturday game. Celtic did not want to play on the Tuesday because this would have meant at least problems for Crerand and McNeill as they were selected to play for Scotland U23's on the Wednesday night. In the end Raith Rovers had to concede and the game went ahead on the Monday night.
  • Again an unchanged side for Celtic. Raith too were unchanged. Raith were involved in a relegation battle and every point for them was a step closer to surviving in the First Division.

Review

A very windy night with Celtic playing with the wind in the first half. Chalmers scored midway through the first half. MacKay missed a penalty for Celtic soon after, the Raith keeper making a decent save. Fox equalised for Raith in the second half.
