Trivia

  • Following the scenes in Dundee after the game at the weekend there was of course instant outrage within the media. Although half the crowd in the ground were Celtic supporters the trouble was confined to around 200 in the centre and was predominantly drink related. The Celtic support certainly did not come out smelling of roses. But the death in custody of a seemingly quiet and non-violent supporter would be followed up. The response showed a complete lack of understanding of what football in general and suppoprting a team meant to the largely working class man on his day off.
  • This game was due to be played on the Saturday 11th November, however dense fog throughout the Clyde valley saw the game called off and rearranged on the Wednesday night.
  • Billy Price was again fit and came back in at left half at the expense of John Clark
  • Pat Crerand was in the Scotland team that beat Wales 2-0 at Hampden Park on 8th November.
