Trivia

  • Celtic left half Billy Price handed in a transfer request
  • The League Cup Final was played at Hampden between Hearts and Kilmarnock. Hearts won 1-0.
  • Strangely for Celtic….. The team that drew against Valencia in midweek were rolled out again except John Clark appeared to be dropped for his penalty miss and in came Billy Price who had just handed in a transfer request!
  • Billy McNeill and John Kennedy were both sent to see a specialist regarding their respective injuries. Both were generally quick healers and these were taking longer than usual to overcome.
  • On the world stage, the Cuban Missile crisis was in full swing in the Caribbean with the United States establishing a cordon and a zone of exclusion around Cuba and a Russian fleet carrying nuclear missiles headed for the islands. It looked like the world was on the eve of nuclear meltdown.
