Trivia

  • Scottish European adventures. Dundee played Anderlecht this night in the quarter final first leg of the European Cup and won 4-1
  • Both teams delayed naming their teams to the last minute. The pitch was playable but the going underfoot was heavy.
  • For Celtic back in came Duncan MacKay. MacKay was and had been on the transfer list for some three months but there had been no takers.

Review

Bobby Craig made all three Celtic goals after Celtic had conceded an early goal to Hearts. Hearts were dominant for the first 20 minutes. It was not until Mcneill, Price and Mcnamee began to get a handle on the Hearts attackers that Celtic began to get on top. Early in the second half, Barry Hearts centre half twisted a knee and he was a passenger for most of the half indeed had to be carried off 5 minutes from time.
