- On the night of Tuesday 23rd, Celtic Reserves met Morton Reserves in the replay of the Second XI Cup at Celtic Park winning 3-0. Fallon, Lennox, Johnstone, Gallacher, Hughes and henderson all played. They went on to meet Hearts Reserves at Tynecastle, the winners to meet Dundee Utd Reserves in the final (they had already booked their place).
- In the first leg of the European Cup semi Final Dundee lost 5-1 away to AC Milan.
- John Hughes was again fit and came in at centre forward in place of Bobby Craig who was out with a thigh injury.
