Review

Thirds actually started better than Celtic and after two scares on the Celtic goal line the attack got going and delivered three goals in five minutes The first came from a Divers header; the second came when Lennox seized on a short back pass and the third was made by Divers and scored by Turner. Celtic were then awarded a penalty when Turner was pulled down in the box and Brogan put away. Four goals in seven minutes! It was end-to-end stuff and Thirds pulled one back from a good move. Divers nearly got a fifth and Lennox and Chalmers both had chances. The next goal though was Anderson's second for Third Lanark. The pace of attack from both sides continued and five minutes from half time Third got a third goal from Buckley. There was still time for further Celtic attacks but at half time it stood at 4-3 after being 4-0 up.
Five minutes into the second half Graham seized onto a rebound and despatched the ball to make it all square. With McNeill looking strangely out of form Celtic held on for the rest of the half with Third Lanark looking brighter.
