Review

Celtic were bright early on but as the first half wore on Kilmarnock established a surety on the ballwith McInally always dangerous. He set up the opener for Murray on sixteen minutes. Celtic should have replied when Hughes broke free but he elected to shoot over with teammates in better positions. Both teams fought hard for the rest of the half with Celtic having good chances and though Kilmarnock went in a goal up it looked an even tussle with Celtic pushing hard for an equaliser.
A degree of tetchiness had started to creep into the game with King booked for Killie and Kennedy and McFadzean having a personal duel. But on 64 minutes Killie found the killer when Mcfadzean crossed and Murray hit the ball strongly past Fallon. Two minutes later Murray set up McInally with a hint of offside. from a fighting 1 goal down Celtic were now three behind. The fight went out and McInally added a fourth with 18 minutes to go.
Celtic were a well beaten team after starting well and holding their own for much of the game.
