Review

Firhill for thrills! A packed house saw a harder game than perhaps the scoreline might suggest. For 48 minutes Thistle matched Celtic and the game stood poised at one goal apiece with both teams playing hard but well. Hogan, the Thistle right back picked up a knee injury and did not appear at the start of the second half and was more a passenger when he came back on. Then in an explosive burst Celtic scored three goals, two from Stevie Chalmers to put the match past Thistle. Chalmers added a fifth just before the end against a ,by then, demoralised Thistle. The first goal, probably the best of the pick, came from a Gallacher voley of a Lennox cross.
