Review

Celtic progressed to the quarter finals with this win at Dens Park. Celtic started with power and determionation and were 2-0 up at half time. Murdoch and Clark added to the forward line when required and Gemmell, McNeill and Young were strong in defense. Hughes second goal was a blistering shot having picked the ball up in the centre and beaten several defenders. Before that Divers had put Celtic ahead when he latched onto a Chalmers chip to score. Dundee fought back and Penman scored with an unexpected shot that went in off the base of the post. In the second half McBride added a third with a header after Hughes and Chalmers had made the opening.
