  • The 37 Scottish clubs in the League rejected the call by the SFA and the League for a reorganisation. This meant that there would still be promotion from Division 2 to Division 1 this season.
  • Jim Craig was out again suffering a recurrence of the ankle injury. This meant moving Billy McNeill back to right back and John Cushley coming in. Also out was an injured Charlie Gallacher. McBride moved across to inside left with Bertie Auld coming back in at inside right.
