Review

An imperious Celtic performance in the first half when Lennox scored both the Celtic goals. Killie however fought back in the second half. The first goal came from an excellent pass by Bobby Murdoch into the path of Lennox who strode onto and vollied the ball past Ferguson on ten minutes. His second goal was a poachers classic of being in the right place at the right time. Chalmers and Johnstone made the opening and Jinky weaved through the crown and his shot came off the post and there was Lennox to tap home.
Killie fought back after the half time whistle but despite their forceful attacks they could not break down the Celtic defense.
