Review

Another tough tie against Dundee Utd who were taking on the reputation of Celtic's bogey team. Bobby Lennox got the only goal in a tight game in the 61st minute putting a Bertie Auld pass away. This was after he had had the ball in the net twice before only to be given offside. Celtic were awarded a penalty in the eighth minute when Lennox was sent sprawling but this time Gemmell's spot kick was saved. Celtic had the upper hand throughout most of the first half but failed to get the ball in the net. After Lennox's goal in the second half Dundee Utd came out and Celtic defended strongly with the knowledge that they could go back and score if needed.
