Trivia

  • The game was again a chance to show off the Reserves and see how they performed and to give those either out of direct selection or recovering from injury a run out. So Tommy Callaghan, George Connelly and John Clark all got games.
  • Four inches of snow were cleared off the ground at Methil before the game could go ahead.
  • East Fife were using the game as a warm up for their Cup meeting with Dundee on the Saturday following.
  • Bobby Murdoch (who had missed the Partick Thistle game) and Bertie Auld who was recovering from a thigh strain were both scheduled to play but neither in the end figured.
