  • Brogan, Hay and Johnstone had been away with the Scotland international party at the home internationals.Hay and Brogan played against Wales on the 15th drawing 0-0; they then played Northern Ireland at Hampden losing 1-0; then Brogan and Johnstone played against England at Wembley losing 3-1 on the 22nd. Jim Brogan had picked up a hairline fracture of his right leg.
  • Played in the Ramat Gan stadium in front of 35,000. Celtic reward the double cup winning team with a week long trip to the Holy Land. They left Glasgow on the 24th.
