Review

A variable game of missed chances for Celtic, particularly in the first half.
Celtic had most of the play in the first half hour but only had Jimmy Johnstone's goal to show for their dominance. And in a breakaway Dundee actually scored! . In the second half Dundee tried to make a game of it but there shooting whenever they could was all from a distance and Williams was untroubled in goal. Finally with eight minutes to go Dalglish grabbed the game by the scruff and scored.

With leaders Rangers winning at Easter Road the Celtic fans roared on their team to victory and Dalglish's brilliant late goal was no less than they deserved after incessant pressure.

Murdoch's presence was welcome on midfield and he played well.
