  • Hugh Smith of Blantyre Vics benefit game. Hugh Smith had been involved in the Junior game most of his adult life and the Benefit was due to illness which limited his involvement in the game.
  • The game was played at Douglas Park, Hamilton on a Friday night with a 15p entry and kick off at 7:00 pm
  • The Central League side contained three Scotland Junior internationals. McGranaghan at outside left had been a provisional at Celtic Park.
  • Celtic Boys Club hosted an international Youth Tournament on the Friday and over the weekend with teams from all over Europe. The U15 and U16 finals would be played at Celtic Park on the Monday with the preliminary games at Shieldhall Park.
