Review

Killie played with great enterprise and Davie Provan was a constant threat to the Celtic defence. They opened the scoring in five minutes when Smith took the ball into the Celtic half before squaring for McCulloch to shoot hame. Killie continued to attack through much of the first half.
Dalglish cracked a shot off the post before Celtic scored twice in a minute just before half time. Joe Craig took an Aitken pass in his stride before shooting home and just over a minute later Dalglish released Wilson on the left and the winger right footed into the corner of the net.
The second half was hard fought with both sides having chances.

Pat Stanton earned rave reviews in the press and there is talk of him being a contender already for player of the year.

The team were looking good at the end of the month, third in the table with a game in hand.
