Review

Played in the original Olympic stadium in Melbourne built for the 1956 Olympics. Celtic should have won this game and outplayed the Yugoslavs for much of the game.
A late Roddy MacDonald header gave Celtic a draw in a much improved performance from the defeat in Singapore four days earlier.
Celtic played a European game by getting behind the ball when not in possesion and frustrating the technically superior Slavs.
Pat Stanton was ordered off for retaliation in the 89th minute.
