Review

Alex Ferguson's young Saints run out deserved winners. Future Celts McGarvey and Stark have excellent games as Celtic's poor form continues. Celtic play Burns at left back and his flair is badly missed in midfield.

Saints could have been in the lead before Munro's own goal but McAdam equalised after Hunter had saved a blistering Glavin free kick.

The winning goal was a fine effort when Stark dribbled his way into the area and poked the ball past Latchford.

In his autobiography Frank McGarvey stated that he could not believe how slow the Celtic defence was on the day.
