Review

This game was fortunate to finish after heavy rain lashed Firhill all night. Tommy Burns had an interesting evening. By 29 minutes he had scored two cracking goals but in 31 minutes he was sent off after trading blows with Thistle's Colin McAdam.
Ronnie Glavin made both the opening goals for Burns with well taken free kicks which the bold Tommy lashed home. Burns and McAdam then had their tussle on the sideline which ended up with Tommy getting a straight red and when McDonald had recovered he too was red carded. They were shortly followed by Booby Houston when he received a second yellow for a foul on Andy Lynch. And that was with only 36 minutes gone!
In the second half on a field which looked like a WW1 no mans land, Ronnie Glavin missed a penalty when the ball partly stuck in the mud and Alan Rough easily saved, Roddy MacDonald sneaked in a goal when Rough mishandled and Tom McAdam added a fourth near the end.
