This was a bad tempered game and Whittaker was deservedly sent off. thistle fought hard and equalised with a goal from the lively Donald Park.

MacLeod came on as a sub to great cheers from the fans for his first appearance since October and scored two explosive goals past Scotland 'keeper Rough.

Sullivan had opened the scoring with a 25 yard thunderbolt in the first half and these were goals of the highest calibre.
