Review1982-01-30: Abedeen 1-3 Celtic, Premier Division - The Celtic Wiki

Celtic recovered well after going down to MacMaster's goal in the first minute.

The midfield four of Sullivan, McStay, MacLeod and Burns were excellent throughout and Provan's absence was not missed.

McCluskey hit a post and McGarvey missed a sitter from six yards before McCluskey equalised from the spot after Rougvie fouled McGarvey.

Celtic soaked up the pressure in the second half and MacLeod put them in front from a free kick when the ball deflected off the Aberdeen wall.

Miller was fortunate to stay on the park after a rugby tackle on McGarvey when he was clean through.

However McStay clinched it with a glorious third when he made space in the area and fired a left foot shot past Leighton.

McStay at only 17 was arguably the best player on the park and looks to have a wonderful future ahead.
