Review

Celtic hit Dundee Utd with a two goal burst just before half time. In the 39th minute Provan was tripped inside the box by Stark, and Nicholas blasted the penalty past McAlpine. Almost on the stroke of half time Provan crossed to the near post, Nicholas back-headed and Mcgarvey nicked in between two defenders to hook the ball past McAlpine. United, who had hit the post in only five minutes through Dodds, put in a great effort in the closing stages trying to pull a goal back and Bonner had to show top form to save shots from Gough and Holt.
