Review

Given a full going over and then some in the second half

A point was no less than the Arabs deserved – they would not give up and the game had last minute sucker punch written all over it from an hour onward – credit to them

Our lack of character is startling sometimes – we now look very much a team three seasons out of the title-winning habit

This was the kind of failure to see things out you would readily associate with a team too often hostage to anxiety the longer a close game vs spirited opposition goes on

I have asked this question umpteen times now – where are our lynchpins in a crisis?

Certainly none of the senior players or highest earners come close to filling that role, which should be of real concern

Capable decision-makers, cool heads, game changers? When it matters most, we have few if any.

From the other end of ground Mastrovic looked hugely lucky to avoid a red, no complaints today about the ref hurting us any more than we're capable of hurting ourselves

Subs didn't work if aim was to retain possession and box clever down near their final third, far too often they countered with ease and it only got more frenetic the more time ticked down toward 93 mins.

With hindsight stiffening up the midfield far sooner may have been a better shout, Lenny appears to have very little faith in Juarez.

After one OF game and one defeat, 3 points offpace is exactly what we can expect, so no disaster by any stretch, though the support's nervousness was in full evidence today

Hang in till Jan I'll be pleased enough as this is a dogfight with the huns now, shows no signs of developing into much else, and their tight-knit squad combined with a winning mentality makes them formidable opponents for our lily-livered lot for the forseeable, sad as that is in so many respects.

Disappointing but in the greater scheme changes very little – if we're to have any chanceof winning a title we need a watershed performance and result, most likely against the huns, and I don't think we're yet threatening to produce one.

Oh and bloody baltic at the gemmes this weather.

Celtic 1-1 Dundee United(BBC)

An injury-time header from Sean Dillon snatched a point for Dundee United at Celtic Park.
Gary Hooper's 11th goal of the season gave Celtic a 23rd-minute lead after good work by Shaun Maloney.
United keeper Dusan Pernis made fine saves to keep out efforts from Hooper and Niall McGinn.
Dundee United seldom threatened but Celtic were made to pay for their profligacy when Dillon popped up to level in the dying seconds.

The draw means Rangers now extend their lead over Celtic at the top of the table to three points, while United increase their advantage over seventh-placed Kilmarnock by two points.
Neil Lennon made two changes to his side, Anthony Stokes dropping out with a virus, while Daryl Murphy returned to partner Hooper and Joe Ledley came back from a ban to replace Efrain Juarez.
United manager Peter Houston kept the same side which drew with Kilmarnock last week with David Goodwillie leading the line, supported by Johnny Russell.
Murphy clipped the outside of the Dundee United post with a header as Celtic applied some early pressure, then Goodwillie missed a golden opportunity at the other end, firing wide of the mark when he really should have found the net.
The opener arrived after 23 minutes when Maloney pounced on a slack pass from Garry Kenneth and slotted through for Hooper to smash past Pernis in the United goal.
The Englishman almost doubled his tally moments later, aiming a shot at goal from six yards out, but Pernis pulled off a superb save to deny him.
Ki Sung-Yeung piled on more pressure with a shot from distance that was blocked by David Robertson, then Hooper powered into the United penalty area but his final ball failed to test Pernis.
As half-time approached, Ledley sent an effort sailing over the United bar, then Pernis was at full stretch to keep out a similar effort from McGinn.
Shortly after the break, McGinn had another shot on goal that cleared the crossbar.
United demonstrated more determination in the early minutes of the second half, with Goodwillie keeping up the pressure with some positive runs at the Celtic defence.
However, in the 52nd minute, with most of Celtic's players camped around the United box, Goodwillie again broke free down the right but he failed to lift his head to see the unmarked Morgaro Gomis in support and was crowded out in the end, only winning a corner which came to nothing.
Maloney then picked up a threaded pass from Emilio Izaguirre, but the Scotland international ran out of steam after powering into the United penalty area.
Pernis touched another Hooper shot round the post shortly after the hour mark as Celtic went in search of their second of the afternoon.
The United fans were incensed when Goodwillie clashed with Daniel Majstorovic on the edge of the Celtic penalty area, but no free-kick was given.
As Celtic were honing in on the elusive second goal, Prince Buaben cleared Hooper's effort off the line and the hosts failed to capitalise on the resulting corner.
Buaben lined up a late set-piece on the edge of the Celtic penalty area, but failed to test keeper Fraser Forster and the hosts looked set to claim all three points.
However, a late United free-kick on the edge of the Celtic penalty area delivered by Barry Douglas was met by the head of Dillon and the ball looped over Forster to stun the home crowd.
