Review

Game was like a training session, with hamilton offering not very much.
A few players a wee bit off the boil compared to recent performances, but I think we can allow that eh ?
Glad it was a home game today though if we were going to perform like that.
A few players tired a bit midway through the second half, yet we still dominated the whole game.
Great first goal by Commons and a cool finish for the second.
Should have had a hat trick after a great through ball from Stokes.
Great support shown for Neil Lennon too, which I am sure wont go un-noticed by either the man himself, the club, and of course the arseholes in the media.
Of course they were still having sly digs at Neil even after the game today, from Chick Young, James Traynor and Billy Dodds. Well f**k them.

Liked the Emilio song from the GB today too.
Not so sure about the Commons one, but good that some of these players are getting their own songs now.

Well done Celts. Another 3 points won very easily without going up any gears.

Commons stars in Hoops win

(UKPA) – 1 hour ago
A Kris Commons double in a 2-0 win against Hamilton at Parkhead put Celtic eight points clear of Rangers at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
The Hoops had struggled for much of the first half until four minutes from the break when the Scotland midfielder volleyed in from 25 yards.
Commons capitalised on a shocking mistake by Accies defender David Elebert early in the second half to double his tally and put the pressure on to Rangers who have three games in hand ahead of their trip to St Mirren on Sunday.
With less than 30 seconds gone Accies defender Simon Mensing almost sliced the ball in to his own goal from 10 yards as he blocked a cross from Scott Brown.
After the mayhem of Wednesday, it was a low-key start in comparison but in the 15th minute Hoops striker Georgios Samaras headed a Commons' corner from the right past the far post.
After a decent passage of play midfielder Mark Carrington had a shot from distance deflected for a corner, from which Mark McLaughlin's header from Dougie Imrie's cross caused some panic and the SPL leaders were happy to concede another corner which came to nothing.
It was a slog for the home side but in the 41st minute Commons lit up the match with a wonderful goal. Ki Sung-yeung's corner was cleared away only to Brown who set the former Derby County player up 25 yards from goal and he sent a left-footed volley high past Tomas Cerny.
It became two in the 52nd minute when defender David Elebert took a pass from Mensing and passed the ball across his own box straight to Commons who, with some confidence, curled a left-footed shot past Cerny.
In the 70th minute Samaras failed to get on the end of a Mark Wilson cross which sped across Cerny, moments before Accies midfielder Gary McDonald clashed with Beram Kayal to have the home fans screaming in rage.
The game petered out and the Hoops' crowd slipped away, safe in the knowledge that another step towards the title had been taken with minimum fuss.

Celtic 2-0 Hamilton

By Clive Lindsday
Kris Commons' stylish double ensured a win over stuffy bottom side Hamilton Accies that stretched Celtic's lead at the top of the table to eight points.
Accies went close with a David Elebert header before Celtic turned greater possession into a goal with their first effort on target after 42 minutes.
Commons' superbly controlled 25-yard outswinging drive flew into the net.
The winger pounced on a poor Elebert pass to score with another curling effort seven minutes after the break.

From then on, Hamilton had little hope of matching the 1-1 draw they achieved against the same opponents in January never mind record their first win at Celtic Park in 73 years.
And Celtic cruised to a victory in manager Neil Lennon's first game sitting in the stand as he serves a four-match touchline ban.
Gary Hooper was missing from Celtic's starting line-up with a knee injury following the midweek Scottish Cup win over Rangers, with Anthony Stokes starting up front.
Fraser Forster returned from suspension to take the place of Lukasz Zaluska in goal.
Nigel Hasselbaink and Jim McAlister came in for Damian Casalinuovo and Mickael Antoine-Curier for Accies as manager Billy Reid looked to tighten up and hit Celtic on the break.
But they were almost undone within seconds when Simon Mensing came close to turning a low Scott Brown cross into his own net.
Celtic were in control of possession, but they had no real pace to their build-up and Accies started to threaten at the other end.
A powerful Mark Carrington drive was deflected wide and a Flavio Paixao corner was headed just over at the near post by Elebert.
Celtic's chances were limited to dangerous crosses into the penalty box, with one just failing to find the head of Georgios Samaras and Stokes wildly missing the target with a volley from a difficult angle.
The breakthrough came after a Daniel Majstorovic header was deflected wide for a corner.
When the ball fell to Scott Brown, he teed it up for Commons, who struck a powerful swerving left-foot drive into the far corner of the net from 25 yards.
Both sides made changes at the break, with Thomas Rogne replacing the injured Majstorovic at the heart of a Celtic defence that had been untroubled by lone striker Hasselbaink.
The Dutchman was Accies' half-time casualty, David Hopkirk being introduced for the visitors.
However, their hopes of a comeback were delivered a blow before the new striker had a chance to shine.
Elebert played a slack ball across his own penalty area and Commons pounced to curl a drive high into the top corner from 16 yards.
From then on, the result was never in doubt.
Even an off-the-ball clash between Hamilton midfielder Gary McDonald and Celtic's Baram Kayal failed to lift the temperature.
Celtic had recovered their composure after last weekend's slip-up against Motherwell to leave Hamilton seven points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Premier League.
