  • Celtic won the league after Aberdeen lost last Saturday, so this is a sore point for Aberdeen as this game kicked off.
  • Aberdeen give Celtic a guard of honour. So respect to them.
  • Some idiot threw a pie at Brown, he remarked on the incident:
    • “‘Someone threw a pie at me and I was going to eat it but it fell out of my hands,’ he joked. That’s probably just as well because the gaffer wouldn’t have liked it – there’ s too many carbs in it."
  • Celtic fans in full swing; singing "Hey you! We're having a party…"
  • Guidetti told to go away and figure out what he wants to do next season. Celtic contract offer was removed in Feb, Sporting Lisbon getting cold feet due to wage demands, no guarantee of Feyenoord.

Will mean zilch just desperate Huns story.

ReviewAberdeen 0 Celtic 1

(Silent Witness of KDS forum)
I thought we were absolutely magnificent (in a MON post-match interview way). We weren't really, but the players looked out on their feet, but dug deep to win, not conceding anything to our nearest rivals. They'd have been unbearable if we'd took it easy and lost. We really did depend on VVD and JD, and it would be leave a massive hole in the team if we lose both.

This may have laid down a marker for next season, but I can only see this Aberdeen team improving and putting up another strong challenge to us. McInnes' tactics against us are bizarre, however, as he keeps playing into our hands, particularly playing such a high line with what is not a quick central defence. Also their tactics coming forward are lacking in subtlety, and they seem to lack belief against us. When they kept it on the ground, they troubled us. When they hoofed the ball and tried to kick us off the park, we handled them comfortably. But for all that, as our nearest challengers, they are here to stay, and I'd far rather it was them than the tribute act.

Aberdeen 0-1 Celtic: Scott Brown scores only game of the game as SPL champions make it four wins out of four over the Dons
Scott Brown's 49th minute goal secures the three points for Celtic
Celtic had already been confirmed as Scottish Premiership champions
The Hoops made it four wins out of four against Aberdeen this season
By MARK WILSON FOR MAILONLINE

Back at the birthplace of the Ronny Roar, Celtic found yet more to shout about. Completing a clean sweep over Aberdeen in their first game since becoming champions underlined precisely why they have secured that status.
The title success was recognised by their hosts, who formed a guard as the teams emerged before kick-off. That, though, was where the deference rightly ended. Boundless energy was invested thereafter in trying to make this a humbling experience for Ronny Deila and his players.
For the first half hour or so, it looked like it might work. But then we have been here before this season.
Celtic captain Scott Brown scored a 49th minute winner to his side secure three points at Aberdeen

Referee: Craig Thomson
Attendance: 16,742
Man of the match: Jason Denayer

Celtic stood firm within that storm then struck with vengeance early in the second period. A move that swept from one penalty area to the other ended with Scott Brown’s fifth goal of the season.
That surge of quality was sufficient to create a 14-point gap between first and second with just two games remaining.
The destination of the prize may have been confirmed by Aberdeen’s defeat at Tannadice eight days previously but this was far from a relaxed end-of-season affair. Too much has been traded between these sides, on the field and off it, over the course of the campaign.
That edge was evident when fourth official Brian Colvin had to step between Deila and Derek McInnes to ensure calm as the latter complained about perceived time-wasting in the final stages. A few minutes later, the Norwegian was able to indulge in his now-familiar fist-pumping celebration in front of the visiting support.
It had first been seen here back in November when Celtic secured a last-gasp victory that was as pivotal as any in their journey towards the coronation. Brown was sent off that afternoon but marked his own return as match-winner.
Ultimately, there is a 9-2 aggregate between the teams from their four meetings. Aberdeen’s consistency against the other ten top-flight teams this term has been outstanding. But taking that final step is like trying to leap a chasm given the resources at Celtic’s disposal. It remains to be seen whether the margin can be narrowed next season, but McInnes insists Aberdeen will return all the more determined.

There was certainly a focused aggression about his side from the first whistle yesterday afternoon. They looked every inch like a team bursting to prove a point about their capabilities.
Celtic were denied space to play out from the back. Pretty much every time Craig Gordon was in possession, Adam Rooney and Jonny Hayes pressed tight against Virgil van Dijk and Jason Denayer to prevent the ball being distributed short and quick.
Celtic had already been confirmed as SPL champions before kick-off and underlined the status with victory

Being denied that base to build and formulate attacks left the Parkhead side looking uncertain early on. Attempts to go more direct often saw Leigh Griffiths brushed aside by either Ash Taylor or Mark Reynolds. Not until the 33rd minute did Celtic have a shot at goal -via a rather timid effort from Stefan Johansen.
Until that point, what threat there had been in a slightly narky opening period had come from the hosts. Barry Robson remains an arch-competitor to his bootlaces and was consistently cajoling, directing and admonishing his team-mates. The 36-year-old also still possesses one of the most powerful shots in Scottish football, as exhibited with a missile-like 30-yarder that zipped fractionally wide of Gordon’s right-hand post.
Darnell Fisher was making his first start of the season for Celtic at right-back stretched well to nick a tantalising Hayes cross away from Niall McGinn. Otherwise, the winger would surely have found the net.
Reynolds was then just unable to divert a header from Andrew Considine beyond Gordon as the Dons went down a more physical route. Yet there was no clinical edge to accompany their abundant effort.

Deila’s men eventually began to assert themselves and could have snatched the lead through Johansen’s second attempt of the afternoon. The Norwegian burst into space as Aberdeen lost possession deep into Celtic territory, latching onto a long ball from Emilio Izaguirre to hare in on goal. Ultimately, though, his attempted chip was unconvincing, allowing Scott Brown to tip wide for a corner.
Fisher then had a burst of adrenaline after a neat exchange with Griffiths, but his thumping effort flew too high.
Pittodrie applauded what it hopes will be a rising generation of talent when Aberdeen’s Under-20 side paraded the Development League trophy at the interval. The accompanying ‘We Are The Champions’ soundtrack did, however, provide a very obvious opportunity for the visiting support to raise their own voices.

Sunday's victory at Pittodrie Stadium was Celtic's fourth win of the season over nearest challengers Aberdeen
A slip by Denayer almost allowed Aberdeen the perfect fillip after the restart, but McGinn’s clipped effort from 18 yards was grasped by Gordon.
Four minutes later, McInnes’ side were behind. It was a goal of championship quality, started and finished by Brown.
The Celtic captain slid in strongly on the edge of his own area to block Robson, before advancing to fire a pass to Griffiths on the halfway line. He took a moment to gather it then found Stuart Armstrong on the left.
This was where the artistic merit came in. The former Dundee United midfielder completely bamboozled Shay Logan with his close control as he glided into the area, adding extra acceleration to see off defensive reinforcement and hit the byline. A perfect cut-back completed the assist, with Brown having followed the advance for a tap-in.

The Cetlic players applaud the travelling supporters who watched their side defeat Aberdeen
He threw his arms wide in trademark ‘Broony’ pose to celebrate facing the Aberdeen fans, appearing to pick up and offer a kiss to an object hurled in his direction.
The home side looked deflated. McGinn sent an angled drive over the top but another goal looked far more likely at the other end. One rapid break forced Aberdeen’s Brown into two fine saves to deny Griffiths and Kris Commons in quick succession. Another saw Griffiths thwarted by a Logan block.
Frustration was starting to simmer. Robson was booked for knocking over Johansen before Hayes received the same punishment for a crude foul on Denayer, impressive yet again.
Final opportunities arrived at both ends. Young Aberdeen substitute Lawrence Shankland headed a glaring chance wide from a Hayes cross in the 89th minute, before Brown produced his second excellent double-stop of the game to deny Johansen and James Forrest. For Celtic, a one-goal margin was enough.

Celtic made it four wins out of four against Aberdeen this season, but were made to fight all the way at Pittodrie.
The Dons' Mark Reynolds, Niall McGinn and Lawrence Shankland all wasted chances.
And they were made to pay for their lack of ruthlessness as Scott Brown poked home Stuart Armstrong's cutback.
They could have made it more comfortable but Stefan Johansen and James Forrest were denied by Dons goalkeeper Scott Brown late on.
It was harsh on Derek McInnes' Aberdeen players, who again ran Celtic close, but, much like the Scottish Premiership title race, they fell just short.
Celtic arrived in the Granite City having already been confirmed as champions following Aberdeen's failure to beat Dundee United last weekend, and the home side welcomed them onto the pitch with a guard of honour.
The hosts did not soften their approach, however, as they tried to earn their first victory of the season over Ronny Deila's side.
Ryan Jack's early cutback was intercepted in the box by Johansen with Adam Rooney waiting to take advantage, before Barry Robson sent a shot wide from distance.
The Dons continued to keep up the pressure. Reynolds knocked wide from Aberdeen defender Andrew Considine's knockdown, before Robson drove a free-kick through the wall and straight at goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
It took Celtic until the 30-minute mark to pose a threat, with Johansen the main outlet as he pulled a shot wide before trying to chip the goalkeeper when played through by Emilio Izaguirre.
Aberdeen players gave Celtic a guard of honour before the match after they were confirmed as champions Aberdeen players gave Celtic a guard of honour before the match after they were confirmed as champions
Darnell Fisher fired over from inside the box as the visitors started to gain control with Aberdeen's early fluency disrupted, and three minutes into the second half Celtic were in front.
Brown started and finished the move, winning the ball from Robson outside his own box and launching a sweeping attack. Armstrong reached the byline and cut back to the Celtic captain, who slid the ball into the net.
McGinn was becoming more of a threat for the home side, though, and twice he cut in from the left-hand side in quick succession, but could not hit the target.
Aberdeen goalkeeper Brown had to make a double save from Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons, shortly after Aberdeen's Jonny Hayes felt he should have had a penalty at the other end when he went down under defender Jason Denayer's challenge.
The Dons were pressurising Celtic's defence without testing the goalkeeper, and they always looked vulnerable on the counter attack.
Their best chance to level came with two minutes left when Shankland's diving header from Hayes' cross went wide of the post.
Celtic should have added to their lead when first Johansen then Forrest fired straight at the goalkeeper from inside the area with the Dons defence stretched.
