Celtic are delighted to announce that Camilo Duran has joined the club on a five-year deal, subject to international clearance.
The Colombian forward joins the Scottish Champions from Qarabag, having spent last season with the Azerbaijani side where he scored 15 goals, including five in the UEFA Champions League, and also provided 10 assists.
Now the 24-year-old is taking the next step in his career with a move to join Martin O’Neill’s squad, and he has met up with his new team-mates at their training camp in Portugal.
Speaking to CelticPlayer after signing for the Hoops, Camilo Duran said: “I’m very happy, it’s a dream come true to sign for a big club like Celtic, the biggest in Scotland, and I’m just excited to get going and score lots of goals.
“When I first heard of the interest there was absolutely no doubt in my mind and I’m just excited to get playing with the boys.
“It was a dream come true playing in the Champions League,” he said. “That’s what you dream of as a kid, so to score goals was amazing and that’s what I want to continue doing here, scoring goals in the Champions League.
“I give it my all in every game, with a lot of effort and dedication, and hopefully the goals will come.
“It’s an honour to be the first Colombian to play for Celtic. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid (to play for my country) and I hope that being here at Celtic and working well, then one day that will become true.
“I’ve told the manager how happy I am to be here and that I will hopefully repay him with my performances. It’s a real honour to wear this jersey and I hope that this year we’ll be champions.”

Camilo Duran is targeting more Champions League goals after completing a move to Celtic from Qarabag.
The 24-year-old Colombian forward has signed a five-year deal and arrives from the Azerbaijan Premier League runners-up for an undisclosed fee.
He scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists last season, with five of those goals coming in 10 Champions League appearances.
“It was a dream come true playing in the Champions League,” Celtic’s first new signing of the summer told club media.
“That’s what you dream of as a kid, so to score goals was amazing and that’s what I want to continue doing here, scoring goals in the Champions League.
“I give it my all in every game, with a lot of effort and dedication, and hopefully the goals will come.”

Duran also hopes moving to the Scottish champions will help him realise his ambition of playing for the national team.

Duran joined Qarabag last summer from Portuguese second-tier side Portimonense.
Now he is back in Portugal at Celtic’s training camp.

Camilo Duran has described signing for Celtic as “a dream come true” following confirmation of his transfer from Qarabag.
The Colombian forward has signed a five-year deal and becomes the first new summer signing for Martin O’Neill’s side after a deal reportedly worth around £6million including add-ons was agreed with the Azerbaijani side.
Duran scored 15 goals, including five in the Champions League, for Qarabag last season, and also provided 10 assists. He previously played in Portugal with Lusitânia, Estrela Amadora II and Portimonense.
The 24-year-old has already joined up with the Scottish champions at their pre-season training camp in Portugal and could make his debut in the friendly against Sporting Lisbon at Algarve Stadium on Tuesday.
“I’m very happy, it’s a dream come true to sign for a big club like Celtic, the biggest in Scotland, and I’m just excited to get going and score lots of goals,” Duran said in a club interview.

Duran netted a double against Eintracht Frankfurt and also scored against Benfica, Ajax and Newcastle United in UEFA’s top tier last term as Qarabag made history by reaching the knockout phase for the first time.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has noticed similarities between new striker Camilo Duran and Daizen Maeda.
The Colombian, Celtic’s only summer signing so far, scored just five minutes after coming off the bench in the Scottish side’s 4-1 friendly defeat to Sporting Lisbon.
The 24-year-old dispossessed the Sporting defender to net from close range and draw Celtic level in the game before going on to concede a further three before full-time.
Manager O’Neill was pleased with Duran’s impact in the game and hopes there’s more to come from the striker.
