Camilo Duran made it two goals in two games as the Colombian forward scored in a 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough at Celtic Park this afternoon.
He netted Celtic’s equaliser five minutes after David Strelec had given the visitors the lead.
Celtic started the game on the front foot, with Duran looking lively through the middle and James Forrest and Sean McArdle providing width on either flank, but Middlesbrough slowly played their way into the game and managed to take the lead with 25 minutes gone.
A corner kick was only cleared to the edge of the area, and it was slipped back into Strelec who turned and slotted the ball beyond Vil Sinisalo.
The Finnish goalkeeper, who had already did well to thwart the visitors, was unable to prevent the Slovakian striker from giving his side a 1-0 lead.
However, that lead only lasted five minutes before Martin O’Neill’s side drew level when Camilo Duran latched on to a ball from James Forrest and lifted it over the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net from six yards out to make it 1-1.
The second half saw Sinisalo produce another few strong saves to prevent Middlesbrough taking the lead, while Callum Osmand, on as a half-time substitute for Forrest, was denied by both posts.
It followed a good move down the left flank, with Mike-Ange Balikwisha threading a ball through for the overlapping Joseph Haney.
His low cross was knocked on to the left-hand post by Osmand, and when the ball spun out, the Celtic striker, who was on the ground, headed the ball on to the other post before it was scrambled clear by the Middlesbrough defence.
And at the other end, Colby Donovan provided a timely block from six yards out to prevent a second Celtic goal.
Martin O’Neill’s side will now have a full week of training at Lennoxtown before they take on AC Milan at Celtic Park next Saturday.

Boro’s pre-season preparations continued with a draw at Celtic Park.
David Strelec’s third goal in two games handed Kim Hellberg’s side a first half lead at the home of the Scottish champions, who hit back with an equaliser soon after.
There were chances for a winner at both ends before the second half became something of a stop-start affair as both teams took the opportunity to make a number of changes.
There were chances at both ends in an entertaining first half which Boro edged.
Jeremy Sarmiento went close as early as the eighth minute as his thunderous strike was beaten away by Viljami Sinisalo, before Myles Peart-Harris had an effort deflected over.
Sinisalo also pushed away a Morgan Whittaker drive and saw a Leo Castledine drive whistle past the post.
Boro continued to battle for a breakthrough and Whittaker had a shot deflected wide before the scoring was opened on 26 minutes.
Strelec was again the man on the mark, getting on the end of a Jack Daley flick before turning and finishing expertly past Sinisalo.
The lead did not last long, though, with Camilo Duran firing Celtic level just after the half-hour with a powerful strike into the roof of the net.
Boro could have retaken the advantage before the break, but Peart-Harris’ sweet hit from range went narrowly wide.
Boro started the second half well and could have gone in front less than six minutes after the restart when Whittaker’s powerful low drive was palmed away by Sinisalo.
Seny Dieng was brought on at the break for Boro and he was called into action on 64 minutes, reacting smartly to push a Liam Scales header over the bar.
Celtic thought they had scored just past the midway point in the second half, but twice Callum Osmond hit the post from close range as the ball somehow stayed out.
Hellberg made a series of substitutions as the half progressed, and two of those introduced combined to great effect as Boro almost made it 2-1.
Fin Cartwright controlled the ball excellently and then sent it in to Kaly Sene, who was denied by a last-ditch interception in front of goal.
Neto Borges saw a cross dip onto the top of the crossbar and that was the closest either team came in the closing stages as it ended all-square.
