Morton 1978

Review

Celtic play well but Ritchie's goal makes it a tense last 15 minutes.
This was a tough game for Celtic against newly promoted Morton. A good first half saw Celtic put on the pressure but Morton held out well with ex-Celt Andy Ritchie the butt of the supporters abuse. Glavin finally put the bhoys ahead in a move with Conn. At half time a bit of a ruck developed in the Jungle.
Roddie Macdonald headed home a Sneddon cross from a Conn corner to make it 2-0 but Ritchie popped up and scored to make the last 15 minutes tense with Latchford making some crucial saves.
