Honours BBC Sports Personality of the Year - Team Award - Kerrydale Street

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year Team Award is given by the public broadcaster on an annual basis to the sporting team or partnership considered by a panel of experts at the BBC to have made the most significant contribution to sport in that year.

The prize was first awarded in 1960 to Cooper Racing.

Jock Stein’s all conquering Celtic side deservedly won the award in 1967 and remain the only Scottish football team to have done so.

Quotes

The presentation of the trophy was made by Matt Busby to Jock Stein with the great prophetic quote:
“We hope that the next hands on the European Cup are yours!”
(Man U under Matt Busby won the European Cup in the following final in 1968)
