Playing For the LostBhoys 2, tells the story of Celtic’s turbulent Season 2010/2011 through the eyes of Supporters from all over the world.

Following on where last season’s book left off, the LostBhoys daily accounts of everything going on in the world of Celtic embrace this crazy season that was to unfold before our very eyes. As Neil Lennon took over the reins, new players were signed, misfits from the Tony Mowbray era were shipped out and the new regime began to grow legs.

However, with the team starting to gel on the field, and with football being played the Celtic way, incidents off the pitch began to become much more of a talking point than the action on it.

Grabbing all the headlines were the Club’s continued refusal to lie down to confrontations with referees, the press, other managers and the SFA. Physical and mental abuse towards our Manager and the Club seemed to be a regular occurrence as the team strived on the field to compete in a Championship that would go to the last day. This was a season of resistance and defiance as all aspects of the Club unified and refused to be treated unfairly by the “powers-to-be”. Equality was all that we asked for from the Institutions at the cornerstone of the Scottish game, yet it took court cases, forums and ultimately police interaction to bring the full nature of the problem to the fore.

This book tells the story of a season of discontent from the perspective of supporters who kick every ball with the team. Supporters, who stand up for, and speak out against injustices and prejudices against our Club and our fellow supporters.

The Thunder has come back to Celtic under Neil Lennon.

“This isn’t the end, this is just the beginning.” (Neil Lennon)

Review

A great read that is more a blog/calendar through the season and takes you through the whole gamut of the past twelve months.

It was an eventful season as much off-the-field as on-the-field, and this tome brilliantly captures the emotion of it all at the ground level.

Enjoyably written, worth purchasing at least for the charity side of it.
