SummaryJelly & Ice Cream - The Celtic Wiki

Jelly & Ice Cream‘ was a chant begun by the Green Brigade at Celtic matches around 2011-12 as a taunt against sympathisers to the now liquidated and dead Rangers PLC, in reference that on the death of their club that all else would be celebrating. ‘Jelly & Ice Cream‘ is a reference to the children’s party treat, and didn’t half rub it in.

Rangers cheated the system in the Scotland, both sporting and governmental (e.g. tax authorities), and following their years of excess fuelled by immoral and rule-breaking methods their death was to be highly celebrated.

The chant was also used by a number of other supports at other grounds too.

Post-Note
As an in-joke, Jelly & Ice Cream was served on the menu to the 1,300 guests at a prestigious Lisbon Lions dinner to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the European Cup triumph in 1967 (dinner was held in London).

The occasion included five Lisbon Lions, lots of celebrities (e.g. Simple Minds, Susan Boyle), Chief Exec Dermot Desmond and Celtic’s largest shareholder Peter Lawell, amongst many others from across the Celtic support.

Wonderful entry on the menu (and it tasted very nice too).
